What does Davis need more of right now? Another Thai place perhaps? Maybe another sushi restaurant? Or what about another frozen yogurt shop? Well I hope you're in the mood for the latter, because that is what Davis is going to get. Joining the ranks of Yogurt Shack, Cultivé Frozen Yogurt and Yolo Berry Yogurt will be yet another yogurt place.
This one will be opening right next door to the Nugget store in north Davis (on Covell). I know this to be true, because today I passed by the place and saw that work is underway to get the store ready for opening. Seeing the store shocked me. Not because I think Davis needs another yogurt place like it needs a hole in the head. Rather, it was the sign outside the place that shocked me. Here is what I saw:
'Comming Soon'. 'COMMING' ???? WTF! This is Davis, California; one of the most well-educated places in the US and we get a new store about to open that is openly flaunting a total inability to spell. How did no-one catch this one? Surely this must have been seen by enough people in the various steps from design to manufacture, that at least one person could have pointed out that there is only one 'm' in 'coming'.
To me, this sends out a very bad message. Do you want to risk buying frozen yogurt from a place that can't spell 'coming'? I wonder if this place will provide chopped 'almmonds' as toppings? Or maybe they will have 'lemmon' flavor yogurt? This is one of the lamest things (or 'lammest' if you prefer) that I have seen in a long while. I expect better from the people of Davis!
At least they didn't spell it with a 'u'!

My wife and I noticed the same thing. The sign for the Buckhorn advertised it as a good restaurant for special "occassions."
